Industry has made some incredible strides over the last few years to end the stigma associated with mental health issues. Despite these successes, the construction industry continues to see high rates of suicide among its employees. Everyone in each sector must remember that having our workers return to the jobsite in the morning is just as important as having them returned safely home at the end of a shift.

September marks Suicide Prevention Month and below Piling Canada has complied a list of industry resources to help teams form meaningful and important discussions on this oftentimes difficult to speak about topic. The list includes resources for Canadian construction firms and personnel to consult for valuable information regarding prevention, toolbox talks, help lines and more.

This list is not exhaustive and many more resources are available through local and provincial/territorial health and safety organizations.
