International Pipe and its owner and CEO Donald B. Karchmer are pleased to announce the asset purchase of Big Bear Pipe & Steel, formally known as R.B. Jacobson, Inc., located in Hesperia, Calif. The company brings a broad spectrum of inventory and services to the International Pipe family, including a full fabrication shop. Big Bear Pipe & Steel joins a family of companies, including International Pipe in Oklahoma City, Ok., Bison Pipe in Jerome, Idaho, and Bigfoot Pipe & Piling located in Puyallup, Wash.
“Our suite of companies now boasts over 100 years of combined experience in the steel pipe industry with [more than] 70,000 tons of inventory, and over 80 acres of storage and fabrication capacity,” said president and COO Darren Sparks. “The addition of Big Bear Pipe, led by general manager Andrew Snyder, expands our distribution/fabrication capabilities on the West Coast as well as provides rail service to our 20-acre facility.”
