Pile Dynamics, Inc. (PDI), a company specializing in quality assurance solutions for the deep foundations industry, announced the expansion of its operations with the opening of a third facility in Solon, Ohio. Since its founding in 1972, PDI has been headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, innovating the deep foundations industry with cutting-edge testing equipment and technologies used onshore and offshore around the globe.
Opened in late 2024, the new facility on Cochran Road adds 9,000 square feet to PDI’s existing 49,000 square feet of operational space. This expansion accommodates the relocation of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) operations from the corporate headquarters and now houses the assembly and testing of the Pile Installation Recorder (PIR), Shaft Area Profile Evaluator (SHAPE), and Shaft Quantitative Inspection Device (SQUID) systems. It also introduces a second shipping location for these systems, as well as for rentals, repairs and new thermal wire cable orders.
“The growth of our business over the past several years has outpaced the capacity of our corporate headquarters,” said George Piscsalko, president of PDI. “This new facility meets our current needs and positions us for continued growth.”
In 2022, PDI secured space in the Cochran Road facility to centralize its thermal wire cable assembly and warehousing. With the latest expansion, PDI’s total operational space has increased by 50 per cent. “We were fortunate that additional space next to our initial Cochran Road facility became available exactly when we needed it,” Piscsalko said.
The former SMT space at PDI’s corporate headquarters has been repurposed into a dedicated service centre for repairing PDI equipment and accessories and facilitates GRL Engineers’ service and equipment storage hub. The corporate office continues to support sales and marketing, new product development, software and electrical engineering, production and warehousing.
PDI’s commitment to quality and customer support has earned it a global network of sales representatives spanning the Far East, Europe, South America and Australia. With its products enhancing deep foundation quality assurance on jobsites in over 100 countries, PDI remains a trusted partner in the industry.
