I think I say the same thing every December – where did the year go? I don’t think
anyone ever gets used to how fast the time flies each year. Before I know it, we’re
wrapping up the Quarter 4 issue of Piling Canada.
We’ve had a great year, starting with being invited to attend the International
Foundations Congress & Equipment Expo (IFCEE) 2015 in San Antonio, Texas in
March. The networking I was able to accomplish at IFCEE has had tremendous
effects all year, which have been reflected in the magazine with project spotlights,
company profiles and technology updates that may not have happened had I not
connected with people at the show.
Over the summer, we conducted a Piling Canada reader survey. Some points
of interest: nearly half of our readers – at 42.3 per cent – are contractors and
another 23 per cent are equipment/material suppliers. What’s more, 77 per cent
of readers have a moderate to great deal of say (with 38.5 per cent indicating they
have a great deal of say) in the purchasing decisions at their companies, which is
fantastic news for our advertisers. More fantastic news for our advertisers – 46.2
per cent of readers are planning to make significant purchases in 2016 (and 70 per
cent of readers read the advertising in Piling Canada all the time, with another
23.1 per cent saying they read the ads sometimes – another reason to make sure
