is currently operating in Mumbai, India for the Mumbai Port
extension project.
The PBA 615 is applied for the extension of one of the
oldest ports in India, the Mumbai Port Trust, located at
the east coast of the Mumbai mainland. To prepare for
further growth, the port will be extended by a fifth oil terminal
at Jawhar Deep. The work is being completed by ITD
Cementation India.
For construction of the 2,500-metre-long approach trestle,
more than 600 piles, 1.2 metres in diameter, are currently
being drilled to a depth of up to 45 metres.
“With a performance-optimized machine design, our
PBA 615 achieves more than 50 per cent higher penetration
rates than conventional solutions in the market,” said Shakti
Chand Verma, director of MHWirth India.

About the PBA 615
The PBA 615 combines a small footprint with light weight
and increased performance. The compact footprint is particularly
beneficial in tight jobsites and with a flexible set-up,
it allows closer drilling to existing walls than other machines.
Additionally, the new PBA 615 and the corresponding power
unit HP IVa comprise various improvements for increased
user friendliness and HSE performance, such as possible
operation with biodegradable oil or spillage protection due
to an integrated tray.
MHWirth’s portfolio for foundation drilling covers the
diameter range from 0.6 to seven metres and provides an efficient
solution for foundations in mixed and hard rock. More
than 300 pile top drill rigs by MHWirth have proven to be reliable
and efficient in numerous projects around the world.
