I was beyond excited when I was asked to join Piling Canada at the International
Foundations Congress and Equipment Expo (IFCEE) 2018 in Orlando, Fla. Not
only would it be a perfect opportunity to escape the Canadian winter, it was an
amazing event that fully immersed attendees in all things deep foundations. If
you were unable to attend this year’s event, be sure to mark off March 15–20, 2021;
it’s definitely worth it! Take a look at the IFCEE wrap-up photo spread starting on
page 12 to relive the magic (or see what you missed).
Formula Contractors Ltd., from Prince George, B.C., celebrated 40 years in busi-ness
last year. Read the cover story about how they have remained successful and
are a go-to company for northern B.C. projects starting on page 34.
Keeping things in British Columbia, flip to page 43 for coverage on the John Hart
Generating Station Replacement project by BC Hydro. Some innovative solutions
had to be undertaken to bring the deteriorating generating station into the 21st
century and beyond, all while ensuring environmental standards were met.
