It’s already our final issue of the year, which is hard to believe. I hope that you’ve
been enjoying the 2017 editions of Piling Canada. This year, we’ve covered deep
foundation construction problems and solutions, training and education opportunities
in Canada, CONEXPO in Las Vegas, tips for selling equipment and services
to contractors, projects and companies working across Canada and so much
more. We also introduced the Piling Canada’s buyers’ guide (and if you have a buyers’
guide profile, your account is live on PilingCanada.ca – log in and enhance your
listing!) in our last issue. It’s been a busy year, but that’s part of what makes the time
go so quickly!
In this issue, read about companies, organizations and a particularly interesting
project by Bermingham Foundation Solutions (who celebrated their 120th anniversary
in October!) that related to marine construction. We’ve profiled several marine
contractors, as well as the Western Dredging Association, who held their annual
conference in Vancouver, B.C. this year.
We are also happy to help introduce PRECO-MSE, the result of the October 2017
merger of PRECO Foundations and the companies of MSE Group. Read their stories
on page 55.
Lastly, I must encourage all of our readers to attend the International
Foundations Congress and Equipment Expo (IFCEE) 2018, taking place March 5 to
10 in Orlando, Fla. This event is dedicated exclusively to the deep foundation construction
industry and is only held every three years. In 2015, the event was held in
San Antonio, Texas, and I had the pleasure of meeting so many representatives of
Canadian industry. Piling Canada will be there once again in 2018 as a Cooperating
Organization, so please come and say hello. In this issue, you can find the full IFCEE
