already looking forward to the 2020 show.
I’ll also be attending the Pile Driving Contractors
Association (PDCA)’s 21st Annual International Conference
and Expo, June 27 to 30 in Amelia Island, Fla. I always enjoy
PDCA’s annual conference, as I get to network with a tightknit
group made up of members of the driven pile industry.
You’ll be able to read a recap of that conference in the next
issue of Piling Canada.
Our cover story for this issue of Piling Canada expands
on some big news from earlier this year – the amalgamation
of Northstar Energy Services Inc. and Sharp’s Construction
Specialists, Ltd. The two companies officially joined forces in
February 2017; read about the article that outlines the new
Western Canadian company, Northstar Sharp’s Foundation
Specialists, on page 20.
You’ll also find lots of other interesting stories, such as
innovative new software that was developed due to a conversation
at CONEXPO, as well as read more about the Western
