“We can now operate as one company with expertise in all
types of foundation piles. Kevin Sharp (the Sharp in Sharp’s
Construction) has taken over the helm for both companies
as our general manager.”
As with all Canadian entities within the Valard Group of
Companies, Northstar Sharp’s is owned by Quanta Services
Inc. of Houston, Texas, the parent that provides engineering,
procurement and construction services for infrastructure in
the electric power and oil and natural gas industries.
Providing comprehensive solutions
across Western Canada
In April, Northstar Sharp’s moved into its new head office
building in Nisku, bringing everyone and everything together
under one roof. Clairmont, in Northern Alberta, will remain
as the regional office, with other locations in Calgary, Fort St.
John, B.C. and Regina, Sask.
“We currently have formal space in Labrador as part of
the Muskrat Falls project,” said Evangelista. “Informally, we
have space and yards to use in specific areas across Western
Canada, made available to us by all our sister companies
under the Quanta flag. Working with our Quanta subsidiaries
is a huge benefit, and we are now actively completing work in
all four western provinces.”
Northstar Sharp’s Foundation Specialists lives up to its
name, providing foundation solutions from stamped designs
and drawings for design/build requirements for any level of
a project to final supply and installation of driven piles, helical
piles, drilled cast-in-place (CIP) piles, rock anchoring
and direct embedment – all available under one company.
The company also has the expertise and equipment to make
it happen: 40-ton picker units, 200 and 100-ton crawler
cranes along with a fleet of Junttans, Soilmecs and Watsons.
